Job Description

The Role:

To act as the interface between the internal organization and the marketing, combining future market demands with the company's capabilities, and develop new ideas for commercially successful products.

The Responsibilities:

• Gross Margin

o Drive the Product Line Managers to globally support the Sales Team in all regions with sales support documents, training, technical service support and contribution to the distribution policy.
o Ensure adequate pricing by the Product Line Managers.
o Drive Sales initiatives and product positioning in the specific area for business development.

• Product Portfolio Manager

o Lead new product development in collaboration with the Vice President of Sales, R&D, Product Line Managers and other decision makers.
o Define, together with R&D, the required know-how and initiates the development of possible new technologies required for the market demands.
o Explore new product opportunities for development of new customers to increase market share.
o Analyze competition for potential new products. Contact and initiate contracts with launching customers for successful introduction of new and existing products, in cooperation with the sales organization.

• Sales & Market Strategy

o Follow market developments and judge on their relevance to the company's (future products).
o Translate market demands to new opportunities and define business cases and development plans. (potential product opportunities).
o Develop, implement and coordinate long-terms sales strategy / market growth (business plan). Give inputs to the Sales Leader for resources (Account Managers, Key Accounts, Distributors, Technical Service).
o Provide effective business development support to sales business unit and company related activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or Business.
• A minimum of 5 years of commercial / business development work experience within the B2B Petrochemical manufacturing business.
• Demonstrates high commercial acumen.
• Able to travel extensively (50%)
• Competent in combining technical know-how with commercial skills.
• Has a well-maintain network of contacts in the chemical business, and has experience in developing new markets and products.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
