Senior Vessel Operator (Dry Bulk)

Our client is a leading commodities trading house. In view of expansion they are currently looking for a Senior Vessel Operator (Dry) to join their progressive team.

• All vessels’ shipping operations for dry cargo ships.
• Vessel’s agent appointment.
• Responsible for checking and fixing the terms in the fixture recap, charter party and filing.
• Declaration of options of different loads & discount rates.
• Handling of voyage instructions and to follow up on daily vessel performance.
• Assemble and validate appropriate documentation for laytime calculations.
• Responsible for following up on post fixture activities such as freight payment, vessel laytime calculation, final freight account (FFA) as well as claims & disputes, insurance settlements for the shipments handled.
• Negotiate demurrage / dispatch settlements.
• Invoicing and settlement for all agreed laytime negotiations with external and internal counterparts.
• Keep track and analyze statistic and KPIs to improve logistic in ports.

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Maritime.
• Minimum 4 - 5 years’ experience in dry bulk ocean freight with direct involvement in laytime calculation and freight & trade operations.
• Possess knowledge of dry bulk freight operations and the principles of laytime.
• Able to work in fast pace environment.
• Well organised and an independent worker.
