Our client is a Japanese Chemical manufacturing company and they are looking for a “Production Engineer” for their Singapore Office.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Production Engineer to:

• Develop innovative solutions and new approaches to production process problems to determine the processes required to produce products that meet the organization’s standards of quality and cost.
• Analyze more complex product specifications, parts drawing, and other engineering data to develop new production processes and conduct Trial Runs of new grade, new process and equipment and follow up with analysis of result and suggest improvements.
• Analyze existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and wastage; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products.
• Coach and mentor less experienced engineers; check the quality of their work and help them resolve problems.
• Lead MOC session for Production Changes, follow up actions on Identified Changes, HAZOP, Risk Assessment, Training Material, Work Instruction and New System Procedures and close up of MOC with listed Register of MOC in the department.
• Conduct feasibility study and trial to verify the result, perform basic engineering design supported by required documentation with cost estimates and report these findings for all production and logistic process potential investment projects such as debottlenecking, environmental, from suggestion ideas and cost reduction activities.
• Participate and support in meeting and Global Initiatives as deem necessary.

Requirements

Our client needs someone with the following skills:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Preferably more than 5 years relevant experience in chemical or related industry.
• An aptitude for and interest in chemical process.
• Analytical skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Good communication skill and able to collaborate with different functions.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Possess leadership quality.
