Job description

* The position will be on a contract to perm basis, based on project requirements.

* Perform various NDT inspections and welding inspections.
* Conduct visual inspection before, during and after welding to ensure good workmanship standards.
* Ensure that initial, in-process final inspection (Welding, Heat treatment) are done according to route sheet.
* Perform Dimentional, on the raw, partially finished products based on the drawings.
* Perform receiving inspections on incoming raw materials as per procedures.
* Witness and monitor pressure tests, PWHT and interpret relevant charts.
* Understand and interpret relevant procedures, work instructions and quality plans related to the following: API 5L, API 1104, API6A, API 16C, API 16F.
* Prepare vendor requisitions and coordinate with them on tests
* Interpret radiographic films and advise production inf any repairs is required for known defect. Report defect details to Welding and QC Engineers.
* Verify that welding machines and measuring instruments are calibrated and maintained.
* Advise welders on proper handling of welding consumable and guide them to understand the route sheet.

Ensure relevant documents are made available and verify with proceding operation in route sheets to be properly stamped.

- Diploma or Dgree in Engineering (Mechanical).
- Certified Welding Inspector or CSWIP 3.1 certification is required.
- NDT Level II in MT, PT, UT and RT as per SNT-TC-1A or PCN is preferred.
- 5 years of working experience as a QC/Welding Inspector within a manufacturing and fabrication work environment.
- Familiar with API 5L, API 1104, API6A, API 16C, API 16F.
- Familiar in Welding of AISI 4130 AISI 8630 F22 and X80 materials are preferred.
- Proficient in report writing (detaied inspection reports and non-confirming parts or material).
- Familiar with dimentional measurements using thread ring/plug gauges, ball guages, calipers, micrometers profile projectors and - CMM equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous, able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to interact actively with colleagues in meetings to evaluate rpogress and performance of inspections.
- Able to work in rotating shifts when required.
