Job Description

Our Client:

Our client, a leading player in the Maritime business looking for a Purchasing & Customer Service Professional with prior experience working in a Ship chandler and vessel management environment

The Role:

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager based in Singapore office, the successful candidate should be a business savvy and customer service oriented.

The Responsibilities:

* Working closely with the Ship Master/Ship owners or 3rd Party to manage all customers related matters from quotations preparations, customer orders and invoicing
* Purchasing - Involved in price negotiation with suppliers to ensure securing most competitive rates and quotation
* Procure and purchase items from Supplier listing using the most competitive rates.
* Liaise closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of supplies and purchases.
* Close collaboration with Operations team to ensure customer orders are in accordance with the vessel schedule
* Coordination with teams in the warehouse for orders preparation
* Keep customers informed in the event of shipment delays
* Maintain system integrity regarding supply orders
* Expedite Customers /Resolve product or service issues by clarifying customers' complaint; determine the cause of problem; selecting and explaining the best solutions to solve problem
* Build relationships with internal operations team and externally with customers and suppliers
* Provide support for new building project
* Review and resolve customers / supplier invoices discrepancies

The Requirements:

* Diploma /Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business, Maritime and similar discipline
* Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a Shipping Operations / Ship Chandler environment is a must
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong ability to communicate with internal stakeholders
* Possess strong strategic and analytical skills, verbal & written communication and presentation skills
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook
* Open to work in Tuas location and commit to working on alternative Saturday for half days
