Job Description
Business Development Manager (BDM) reports to Chief Operating Officer and develop business or marketing strategies to grow the business.
The business strategy that BDM prepares costing and revenue model generation and additionally may - but not necessarily - involve legal matter, business mergers, restructuring, or downsizing. BDM meets and networks with our merchants and users to understand what are the pain points that they are facing and how we can provide solutions and functionalities that are unique to us and able to win competition. Preparing budgets, and finalising the execution of strategy or plan are also a part of the duties.
A BDM usually performs many of the following tasks:
* Creating and validating business strategies
* Overseeing the execution of the business plan
* Coordinating with department heads
* Attending strategic meetings
* Reporting to Chief Operating Officer
* Improving team efficiency and productivity levels
What we require the candidate to do:
- Develop business model or strategy
Do market research/ competitor analysis and find out what strategy in term of functions that we need to develop, how do we market and we can have it adopted, costing and budgeting and also the revenue model that we can create from it.
- Validate the business plan
Test the feasibility of the plan by getting input from our merchants, find out what's the gap in the market and the plan and revise it and ensure it is executable and scalable.
- Execute the business plan
Work with sales, development, and digital marketing team. Come up with marketing strategy, create sales tool/manual for sales team and presentation decks catered to our merchants. Devise KPI and ensure each team understands and able to execute it.
