Job Description

OVERVIEW:

We are currently working with a global Vessel Owner cum Operator to help identify a Sustainability Manager to help develop innovative strategies to help transform their business over time. With over USD 3.7 billion total assets they're one of the world's largest tanker owners globally and this role will be supporting their Corporate Planning & Strategy team focused on looking at what's going to impact the business over the next 10-15 years & how to address those issues with a particular focus on developing strategies to promote long-term sustainability in the shipping/oil & gas industry. In this role you will be tasked with finding innovative & 'out of the box' thinking solutions & strategies to improve their business operations & assets environmental impact & help the business shift to a greener more sustainable mode of operation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Working within the Corporate Planning & Strategy team you will be required to develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives to help the Group achieve a progressive Sustainability agenda
* You will be required to draft key corporate policy on Sustainability framework and coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to prepare appropriate reports (including responses) related to sustainability matters.
* As part of the implementation of these policies & strategies you will be expected to promote and coordinate the engagement sessions with the key stakeholders to support the sustainability programs and process, and to acquire feedback for continuous improvement
* To track progress / compliance you will also be expected to develop a sustainability report, manage and promote reporting sustainability performance to the stakeholders. This would include periodical review and analysis of Sustainable Performance.
* You'll also be able to analyse, identify trends and communicate finds complete with proposed revision to policies, procedures and guidelines, including track, interpret and analyse emerging legislation that will affect the Group and draw up a transition plan to meet upcoming requirements
* Your role will be to Plan, implement and review Corporate Sustainability programs/initiatives across the Group in collaboration with Bus/SUs/subsidiaries. And in addition communicate strategies to publicize the company's effort and awareness on sustainability initiatives

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

* Degree qualified in relevant field such as; Environmental Studies, Engineering, Science, Business or Finance discipline
* You'll need to possess a proactive and resourceful mindset, with a strong problem-solving capability & an inclination to look at old problems with fresh eye & develop innovative solutions to challenging issues
* You'll be knowledgeable in international developments on Sustainability topics across a wide range of industries, some previous exposure to the Shipping / Marine / Oil & Gas / Energy would be preferred
* With at least 8 years' relevant experience in Sustainability work - preferably in the shipping/oil & gas industry - you have a working knowledge of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)* Standards and possess strong planning, stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
