About our client:

Our client is a start-up company with Singapore as the regional HQ. They are working on exciting technologies like automation and artificial intelligence (AI). They are building a platform which heavily utilizes data and technology to disrupt the customer service industry in South East Asia. Driven by Covid-19 situation, they are looking to consolidate their offerings better in the market they service.

Job Description:

This role will report to the CTO of the company, and your team will span across several countries in Asia. This role will be responsible in guiding, developing, and delivering the overall engineering strategy, scale the team up to cope with the demand, and delivery impactful technology solution for the business. You will be working closely with the owners of the company where they are to expect your strong leadership and engineering prowess.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Define & Execute the vision & Strategy and build the technical product roadmap from launch to scale

* Drive technical and architecture requirements and changes with clarity on feasibility, time, cost, and impact

* Collaborate and communicate technology roadmap, decisions and outcomes to key stakeholders

* Always able to continue improving the product and the business from time to time, having a long-term and pragmatic approach to deliver result

* Build, grow, and lead multiple entrepreneurial team of cross-functional builders through design, review, execution, and deployment

* Constantly evaluate technological advancements and innovative solutions to drive continuous product improvement, growth customer success.

* Effectively align optimal resources to achieve key business priorities and meet customer requirements, including the implementation of Agile process.

* Continuously rebalance product / service features which maximize value and minimize effort to focus on the highest-returning initiatives

* Continuously integrate and implement systems to all product stakeholders

* Define and implement a consistent and repeatable process for continuous delivery with quality assurance

* Evaluate, engage, and apply modern technologies to ensure competitive technical advantage, as well as to debug, improve, and optimize critical backend services

The Successful Applicant

We invite an experienced Engineering leader to join this dynamic firm, with a keen eye for improvement and making impact regionally. To be successful you must come with:

* Ability to be upfront, straight forward, and grit personality to drive the engineering team.

* Start-up engineering leadership experience (high growth company with funding and 50+ employees)

* 8+ years leadership and people managerial experience in engineering and technical roles

* Experienced and hands on engineer professional in designing, building and scaling distributed platforms and marketplaces

* Experienced in scalabale back-end infrastructure, technical maturity and update with latest technology and trends.

* Software engineering practices (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc.)

* Strong eye in identifying gaps and push out solutions to close identified process gaps.

* Proactive personality and attitude when collaborating. Managing the implemented systems to ensure business processes are continuously met

* Able to drive strategy implementation as well as changes, maintain cohesive team collaboration, and positive social communicator.

* An entrepreneurial spirit that is flexible, experimental, and resourceful

* Modern, energetic, self-starter, display initiative and proposes pragmatic new ideas / approaches
