Job Description

Our Client:
Our client is one of the leading Banking Services companies in Japan. They are currently looking for a Middle Office Assistant Manager to join their Compliance team in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

• Accountant: Profit and Loss Management. Manage budget controls including payment of expenses and taxes, etc. Undertake the preparation of financial statements, corporation tax, VAT, and other tax returns
• Reporting to Authorities: Submitting periodical reports to authorities including Notice 610 Submission of Statistics and Returns. Liaison with MAS and Accounting Firms regarding bank accounting policies and guidelines
• Risk and Operation Management: Assisting the Middle Office Manager to manage credit, market and liquidity risk from the Middle Office’s standpoint. Check daily operation. Reconciliation of checking the account balance. Manage reports to the Head Office, MAS, and Japanese regulatory agencies, etc.
• IT Management: Assisting the Middle Office Manager to manage the Branch’s IT operations, including the main accounting system. Liaise with suppliers where necessary regarding system maintenance and changes/upgrades
• Credit Risk management: Prepare monthly and other periodic reports relating to the bond and loan portfolios as required by Head Office
• Office Administration Functions: Manage control of office supplies
• Control important items such as agreements
• The Branch's equipment maintenance
• Support control of the security system
• Control and take care of the office environment
• Handle incoming and outgoing mails
• Prepare necessary reports
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Senior Deputy General Manager

Requirements

The Requirements:

• A degree holder
• Relevant Middle Office experience in Banking Industry
• Experience in creating regulatory reports
• PC skills (Microsoft Office)
• Team management experience is preferable
• Having experience with setting up regional branch or subsidiary office is a big advantage
• Good communication skills, strong learning ability, and multitasking skill
