Heading the Fleet Workshop, the Fleet Workshop Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering aspects of the diverse fishing fleet, which includes Purse Seine, Pole and Line fishing vessels, and support vessels. Collaborating closely with senior management, the Fleet Technical Manager, Fishing Masters, and vessel Chief Engineers, this position ensures the seamless operation of the fleet and actively works to minimize downtime. The Fleet Workshop Manager's responsibilities encompass not only technical oversight but also strategic coordination to uphold the efficiency and functionality of the vital fishing assets.

The Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the Fleet Technical Manager and Vessels Chief Engineers to coordinate and supervise repairs for all vessels, including Purse Seine, Pole and Line, and Scout/Support vessels
* Effectively manage and assess workshop staff, structuring daily and weekly work schedules in alignment with the fleet's requirements
* Provide detailed reports on all daily workshop activities
* Implement and oversee training initiatives for the development of local engineers within the workshop
* Organize and maintain workshop supplies, machinery, and tooling, ensuring regular inspections for proper and safe operation
* Contribute to the preparation of workshop budgets, encompassing annual Capital investment budgets and associated activities
* Address staff issues by reporting to HR and the Director of Operations, actively managing staff performance, recommending incentives, and issuing necessary warnings when required

The Requirements:

* Possession of a Master or Chief Engineer certification
* Substantial industry experience, with a focus on tuna purse seiners
* Previous experience in the management of fleet or shipyard workshop operations
* Direct experience with tuna fishing vessels is not necessary but will be advantageous

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

* As a fleet workshop manager, you'll be working in a versatile setting encompassing office spaces, outdoor areas, and onboard locations, often requiring flexibility beyond standard business hours. Regional travel may be necessary. During travel, expect a shift in work environments and increased exposure to various weather conditions
