Job Description

A market leader in disruptive technology focused on 3D Laser Printing of high quality steel tools & components serving clients in the Automotive, O&G, Building/Construction, Energy and Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing sectors our client is recruiting an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join their Singapore team.

They are looking for a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with innovative Engineering skills with the ability to communicate with customers to capture their requirements and specifications as well as operators to direct them in processes to achieve deliverables. Working on their cutting edge additive manufacturing / 3D Laser Deposition Welding Technology you will be required to work closely with other team members to help overcome technical challenges related to their innovative manufacturing processes & help support the continued growth of their business by helping to provide engineering and material solutions to customer and business needs. Supporting the development and introduction of new products, working closely with Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers in Advanced Operations you will be able to liaise with teams in Region & at their European HQ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating and maintenance of all Additive Manufacturing equipment and machines.
• Operate within company “New Product Development Process and New Technology Development Process to build and develop robust Additive manufacturing / 3D Laser Deposition Welding processes through involvement in Design for Manufacturability working.
• Achieve quality and ensure that project deliverables are being met.
• Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with new product development procedures. Assist in the development of such procedures.
• Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
• Will assist in the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
• Will analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental test and result analysis. Participate in process review meetings. Also tracking and documenting processes to achieve repeatability.
• Conduct MSA studies for new products and new processes.

Requirements

• B.S in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel.
• The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and externally as required.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design.
• Demonstrated experience with Additive Manufacturing or 3D Laser Deposition Welding preferred.
• Must be able to read, interpret and create complex engineering drawings. Also have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerances.
• Working knowledge of NX Unigraphics & CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems beneficial Experience is preferred for CAD/CAM.
• Working knowledge of statistical methods and process capability beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Represent the Additive Technology Team in Advanced Operations on complex technical matters, understand product quality implications and offer innovative solutions to problems.
• Analyze additive equipment and processes to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results. Lead and/or participate in review meetings. Build productive internal/external working relationships
• SME of Additive Manufacturing / 3D Laser Deposition Welding processes and other Technical processes are preferred.
• Structure and lead development activities and problem solving sessions.
• Continuously improve the performance of the process.
