As part of their drive to modernise our client has recently revolutionised their business model from more traditional M&E Services & Maintenance Company to an Innovative Solutions provider for clients. Instead of the traditional service & maintenance model our client invests in owning and operating air-conditioning systems on their behalf and instead simply lease them back to the client as a service (including maintenance & operation services). This enables them to utilise their expertise & knowledge in the design of energy efficient plant to provide the most cost effective, reliable & energy efficient solutions
As part of their expansion plan we're recruiting a Senior Design Associate with a strong background in Value Engineered design of HVAC systems for turnkey projects. As Senior Design Associate you will be required to prepare initial scheme design proposals & estimates for a range of HVAC retro-fit / upgrade / A&A works
Job Description
Day-to-day Operations
* You will be required to research, plan, design and develop sustainable HVAC systems designs for a range of Commercial Offices / Mixed Use developments.
* You be expected to prepare mechanical engineering calculations such as cooling loads estimation, pipe & duct sizing, pump sizing, fan sizing, controls strategies and system efficiency evaluation in support of systems design
* You will ideally be able to conduct site inspection / audit and/or detailed energy audit of existing / proposed HVAC Services & produce Concept through to detail design of HVAC services (able to produce design drawings using AutoCAD)
* Your role will also include mentoring of junior engineers
Requirements
What you need to succeed
*Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant years of experience and hands-on experience working in ACMV design
*Someone who can lead and take ownership in projects planning/management & proactively think of and implement solutions to tricky problems
*Engineers with an eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies, new design tools and software, keep abreast with the latest development in HVAC and building industry
*Strong knowledge & understanding in building systems particularly in HVAC systems and/or other M&E disciplines
*Experience in M&E systems design, tender and project management.
*Willingness to take initiative and make decisions with a proactive approach
*Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to deliver
Key Skills:
*Engineers with an eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies & utilize the latest design tools
*Strong knowledge & understanding in building systems particularly in HVAC systems and/or other M&E disciplines
*Experience in M&E systems design, tender and project management.
