Job Description

Our Client:

Our client is a leading company specializing in Plastic/chemical/ distribution businesses regionally. They are looking for a Technical Product Specialist to join their expanding team in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

1. Supplier development and management

* Source and qualify new suppliers based on requests from technical teams.
* Maintain close relationships with suppliers with frequent, proactive, and professional communication.
* Compile and manage documents (specifications, COAs, quality and regulatory documentations)
* Monthly review with suppliers to close gaps on requests.
* Support internal and external customers to meet requirements.
* Prepare training materials for internal sales teams and external customers.
* Develop and execute weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activity plans.

2. Price and Cost Administration

* Negotiate prices with suppliers
* Execute and communicate price strategy to internal sales teams
* Primary contact for all pricing questions or issues from sales organization

3. Market Tracking & Reporting

* Analyze and report movement of competitors, trends and market prices on monthly basis.

4. Customer Relationship Management

* Be the champion of CRM tool for the business unit.
* Generate updates on sales activities, sales leads and opportunities on daily basis.

The Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or science.
* At least 3-5 of years of working experience in sales or purchasing roles in food ingredients or chemicals related industries.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Salesforce.com experience is an advantage.
* Travel is required (~15% of time)
* Strong communication skills.
* Demonstrated negotiation skills and strong business acumen.
* Good time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
* Good team player and demonstrated ability to influence peers in the region.
